Job Description

Job Summary: The ideal candidate will have significant experience handling all aspects of Labor & Employment litigation and counseling employers on compliance. This is an ideal opportunity for an attorney looking to handle a wide-range of labor & employment matters involving cutting-edge topics and sophisticated, interesting clients. A portable book of business is not required, but would welcome one.

Qualifications:

  • Admission to the Virginia Bar
  • Admission to the Maryland and Washington D.C. Bar is a plus
  • 6+ years experience handling all aspects of complex & sophisticated litigation, including defending employers against claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, breach of contract, wrongful termination and/or negligent hiring.
  • Experience drafting pleadings, substantive motions and written discovery; developing litigation strategy; conducting large-scale document reviews and productions; working directly with clients; communicating with opposing counsel; and second-chairing trials, depositions and/or evidentiary hearings.
  • Excellent writing and analytical skills as well as the ability to draft persuasive, clear and effective pleadings, discovery, motions, briefs, mediation statements, orders and settlement agreements.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
