Direct Support Professional (Adult Day Program & Group Home)

Job Description

Summary: Our client is a non-profit focused on making a difference in the lives of adults with autism and other intellectual and development disabilities. The DSP will work with 1-adult with developmental disabilities in an adult residential group home. They would also provide health maintenance and behavior support. Services provided need to enable the client to live a fully enriched and active life with as much independence as possible.

Responsibilities: 
1.  Maintain the regular assigned schedule, inclusive of a daily walk. 
2. Ensure that the health and safety of the client are a priority and follow all emergency plans and procedures.

Requirements: 
1. Must be at least 21 years of age
2. Must be a licensed driver for a minimum of three years with a clean driving record, insured vehicle, and willing to drive client (mileage reimbursement provided)   
3. Previous experience with adults with intellectual and development disabilities (i.e. autism) or geriatric care is  preferred. 
4. Must have good overall people skills. 
5. Must successfully pass a Live Scan (DOJ/FBI) background check.
6. Be able to lift up to 10 pounds, be able to walk, sometimes for extended amounts of time, standing, sometimes for extended amounts of time.

Compensation: $25 per hour plus benefits
