Position Overview

Lewis Brisbois, a nationally recognized AmLaw 100 law firm, is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Defense Attorney to join its San Diego office. This is an excellent opportunity for attorneys looking to grow within a nationally respected defense practice offering complex litigation exposure and long-term career advancement.

Key Responsibilities

• Defend employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators in Workers’ Compensation claims
• Appear before WCAB venues throughout California
• Manage cases from inception through trial
• Handle cases involving:
  • Orthopedic injuries
  • Psychiatric and stress claims
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy
  • Asbestos and internal injury claims
• Perform discovery, depositions, hearings, and trials
• Provide strategic legal counsel to clients

Required Qualifications

• 1–7 years of Workers’ Compensation defense experience
• Active California Bar license (Required)
• Experience appearing before WCAB
• Strong litigation, negotiation, and case management skills
• Knowledge of Workers’ Compensation Disability Rating Scale (Preferred, not required)
