Job Description

Position: Sr. Manufacturing Engineer, Fabrications in Aerospace & Defense Manufacturing

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Develop manufacturing processes for the fabrication of complex aerospace components
  • Identify and design tooling need to meet production requirements including machining, forming and welding. 
  • Prepare detailed work instruction (MOT’s), Set-up sheets and process plans to support production activity. Controls per ASME Y14.3 
  • Creation and use of 3D CAD Models for manufacturing and inspection purposes.
  • Validate manufacturing plans against OEM product design requirements and specifications 
  • Track and incorporate lessons learned for future Manufacturing Engineering requirements
  • Support any continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives as presented
  • Analyze manufacturing inspection data to generate recommendations for process and quality improvements 
  • Utilization of advanced Engineering Software and ERP suite for manufacturing planning
  • Ensure compliance with company/industry safety regulations 
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and instruction to less experienced engineers and staff members

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Due to ITAR regulations, this position requires that the employee be a US Person (US Citizen or Permanent Resident)
  • Previous manufacturing experience related to mechanical components for aerospace preferred
  • 7 years’ experience with sheet metal fabrications and welding required
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering field highly preferred
  • Work onsite, in the office, sitting for up to 8 hours at a time.
  • Expert ability to read and interpret aerospace drawings, specifications, and customer requirements, including contracts
  • Sound analytical and problem-solving skills within a production environment
  • The ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure, deadline critical production environment
  • Ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients. 
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, time management and follow-up skills.
  • Utilization of Microsoft Office applications including Teams and other 

Possess a high degree of initiative and be self-motivated, ability to work with minimal supervision.

Compensation: $100,000-$130,000 DOE plus excellent benefits
